Inline Strainers & Filters

Inline basket strainers are designed to remove solid particulates from liquid pipelines, protecting downstream equipment such as pumps, meters, valves, nozzles, and heat exchangers from damage and premature wear. The fabricated basket design features an elliptical, 45° angled top that provides a high filtration surface area, significantly greater than equivalent cast strainer designs, resulting in lower pressure drop and extended service intervals between cleaning cycles.

The internal basket is constructed from 3mm perforated sheet and can be lined with precision-woven stainless steel wire mesh, covering filtration ratings from 37 to 840 microns (20 to 400 mesh). For coarser applications, perforated sheet baskets rated from 1mm to 10mm are also available. The bolted lid design incorporates a lifting handle and vent valve for safe and straightforward basket removal during maintenance. Larger units are supplied with a davit arm lid lift.

  • Optional accessories: differential pressure gauges, heating jackets, backflush/backwash system, additional gauge nozzles, lifting lugs, and adjustable or welded leg assemblies

Typical Applications

  • Pump and meter inlet protection in rotary pump systems
  • Chemical and solvent process lines
  • Petroleum and fuel oil handling
  • Food and beverage processing
  • Industrial and municipal water treatment
  • Power generation cooling water systems
  • Pharmaceutical and personal care product lines

Installation Notes

Units are installed inline with standard flanged, threaded, or clamp-type connections. Ensure a vent valve is opened during initial filling to purge trapped air from the basket housing. A differential pressure gauge is recommended to monitor basket loading and determine cleaning intervals. The basket can be removed and cleaned without disturbing the pipeline connections. For high-viscosity or high-temperature services, confirm seal material compatibility prior to installation.
