Lobe Pumps

Our rotary lobe pumps are cost-effective positive displacement units designed for applications requiring gentle, low-shear product handling and straightforward serviceability. Built entirely from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, they are well-suited for industries where hygiene, process flexibility, and reliable uptime are critical.

The pump operates via a gear train that drives a pair of counter-rotating tri-lobe rotors in precise synchronisation. As the rotors turn, an expanding cavity draws fluid into the pump chamber; as the blades re-engage, the cavity reduces and fluid is displaced through the outlet port, with no internal contacting parts in the pump head throughout the process.

Configuration Options

  • Available as bare shaft pump or baseplate-mounted unit complete with coupling, guard, gear motor, and shroud for plug-and-play installation
  • Optional heating/cooling front covers for processes handling products that tend to solidify at low temperatures, such as sugar solutions, butter, margarine, gels, and lotions
  • Fully front-loading, self-setting EasyFit shaft seals — no adjustment or retiming required when changing rotors
  • High-precision components are interchangeable across pumps of the same size

Construction Notes

All wetted parts are manufactured in 316L stainless steel with an all-stainless exterior. The one-piece bearing housing supports heavy-duty L10 tapered roller bearings with a minimum rated life of 20,000 hours, providing stable shaft retention and reducing the risk of pump head contact. Seal faces are in direct contact with the media, ensuring effective self-lubrication and cleanability. All pump parts including the rotor case and precision rotors are manufactured in-house, ensuring full spare parts interchangeability.

Installation Notes

The pump can be supplied ready-to-install on a baseplate assembly. Ensure suction and discharge pipework is adequately supported to avoid imposing loads on the pump casing. For processes involving media that may solidify, the optional front cover heating/cooling circuit should be connected and commissioned prior to start-up.
